The largest turbocharger in the S300SX-E series stands out as the only modern midframe T4 journal bearing turbo capable of exceeding 1000 horsepower. It features cutting-edge 69.00mm billet compressor wheel technology derived from the EFR line, paired with upgraded 360-degree thrust assemblies. The newly designed ‘SX-Enhanced’ turbos offer a fresh benchmark for performance and value in today’s turbocharger market.
Engineers at BW adapted the 91S compressor wheel design from the EFR9180 model, refining it to 75% trim to achieve a greater airflow capacity of 98 lb/min. This innovative wheel is integrated into a dedicated SX-E compressor housing, equipped with a ported shroud inlet and an optional speed sensor port. The turbo maintains the use of an 80mm Inconel turbine from the Airwerks line, ensuring compatibility with existing setups through versatile housing choices. With a smaller overall profile compared to the EFR9180 and enhanced airflow, this turbo is ideal for high-boost, high-power applications. It operates exclusively with oil-cooled journal bearings.
